Bump! (Not been on here for a while! ![]() This Pontiac should only be listed on the site as “made for GB” if it is/was a right-hand-drive car. Cannot tell from here, assuming it is only standard LHD?... Aside from the base Pontiac Tempest, no GTOs or full-size Pontiacs or indeed most American-manufacturered cars were sold in the UK as new back in the ‘50s & ‘60s unless they were ‘special ordered’ vehicles (usually RHD conversions). Mostly the basic Chevrolet Corvair, special ordered conversions and third-party imports were sold new in Europe, as were several Chrysler products (mostly the Valiant). In the early seventies, a small handful of US cars were imported as new to the UK from the States through dealerships to be sold new, but most were still LHD and few examples (other than the highest volume exports) received little or no modifications for the UK market. Such as these cars seen here... https://youtu.be/Rib0jbmeaX0 Edit: this is not counting the American-branded vehicles assembled in Europe - EG the GM and Chrysler products built in Belgium and the Netherlands, or the “knockdown” kits assembled in Scandinavia, etc. ![]() -- Last edit: 2018-07-18 03:59:54 |
