the roof of a double-decker seen in the far background. *Note to SteveA:- I've tried sending on additional pics to you over the past couple of days, but All have been returned ..your mail box full again.! I'm not bothering to send on any more links/extra's (I believe i'm wasting my time), I'll add as much as I can here on the IMCDB and with future buses I will make a note for you telling you I have extra's (for a couple of weeks ...before deleting) and you can contact me if you want them (A few more buses to add here later today.) -- Last edit: 2007-07-12 06:29:31 |

I have a picture of a Seddon Mk4 with the same exact side "spear" from "Buses and Coaches" of the Olyslager Auto Library. Only problem is the book says it's a Belgian coachwork. |

Bedford OB must be one of the most common coaches at the time...... The back, sides (including the flash) is similar to this example - bus expert needed.... /vehicle_98012-Bedford-OB-1951.html |

the way the lower back end scoops outwards where the GB sign is , is typical of the OB Bedford body. |

According to "Bus lists on the web" SML399 is a 1947 Leyland PS1/1 with C33F coachwork, one of a group of three bought by Valliant in 47/8, the other two having Duple bodies, which would seem to match this, although the site says something else, possibly Strachan's. Due to the immense shortage of new buses, materials and labour in 1947 it is quite possible that Strachan's built a body to Duple drawings at the request of Valliant. Link to "www.buslistsontheweb.co.uk" Enter either Valliant, or the registration. -- Last edit: 2016-06-17 20:56:50 |

Another thought, how many aspirins would the driver need to take to drive an OB from Ealing to Newcastle? |

....very true, do not exceed the recommended dose. |
