Probably started life as a sedan and had a local jitney body added.

Same like Fordson, this is an Oplet minibus, as referred by Michael Rubbo in 00:21:19

Maybe it's a locally modified Chevrolet Special Deluxe?

If 1941, Dutch flag for "built in".

Could even have been a woody wagon that was rebodied after the original rotted away.

May be historically accurate, but is it useful?? How would a hypothetical searcher for cars built in Indonesia find this one if it is buried within Dutch builds??

^ Well, we wouldn't want those people to be misinformed, would we? If they're looking for Indonesian-built cars, we can't tell'em "this one's built in Indonesia" when it really isn't.

This car was built only two years before the Japanese came, so Indonesia was still the part of the dutch.
