Unless a very special local Italian version of the 1302, I would agree, rather a 1968-70 1300 or 1968-69 1500 (1968 1300 by default, but not yet with an 'L')

We had the Maggiolone (Italian name for the 1302/1303) with 1.2 cc engine without rear air scoops. So, it could be a 1967-73 1200 L, a 1967-69 1300/1300 L, or a 1971-72 1302 1.. A look at the front should be necessary to tell which one is the right one.

Please, attention. Somebody corrected me and I would like to explain. In Italy "Maggiolone" was the name for the series 1302 and 1303. The others were "Maggiolino".
So if it is decided this is a 1302, please leave the word "Maggiolone". If you change for 1300, shift to "Maggiolino".
I don't know well how were Opel Caravans named in Norway and therefore I never change the name used by motherlanguage experts. In this case I am sure about the difference between MAGGIOLINO and MAGGIOLONE. I wrote them in capital letters not to scream or for looking upset but just to let you foreigners read exactly.
Please, excuse me for this long note.

Berto88fi was the one who named it "1302" (actually he named it "Maggiolino 1302"), and I just left it, so not sure if he has more info or pics

I'd eclude 1302 because of the front fender's shape. For 1302 it's wider. The front & rear wheelarches are almost identical on 1302. Here we've deeper wheelarch in front.

@night cub, @electra225, @130rapid, last possible year is 1971 by the rear window. I can't verify the banana vents from here, so then a 1968-70. @electra225, for sure not a 1200, they had the pre-1968 bumpers and taillights 1968-73. But thanks for the info about the 1.2 models, I had a hunch, as your market has had special tax rules through the years. For the nickname issue, I have not edited this entry. Not yet.

I would post it as a 1968 VW 1300 but avoiding Maggiolino because I don't see other Italian cars parked next to it... I am not sure it is a car for I.
