Sunbar ◊ 2006-09-17 19:37	I believe based on this photo this is probably the 1947 Wolseley Oxford Taxi Mk1 (sold by Beardmore before making their own taxi). The true Beardsmore has a more styled radiator.

Sunbar ◊ 2006-09-17 22:36	The only photograph I found was identified as Morris (or Wolesley) Oxford taxi here http://www.glasgowtaxisltd.co.uk/about_history.php . This ties-in with other written descriptions on other London taxi specific sites, Wikipedia and Austin-Rover.co.uk. It was Wikipedia that mentioned Beardsmore dealers being used to sell most of the Oxford taxis, so not necessarily connected with Beardsmore as a manufacturer. - Poor descrition on my part as I was unaware Beardsmore built pre-war taxis - and Wikipedia not 100 % reliable. However I do believe the contemporary photograph from the Glasgow source identifies the post-war Oxford cab built at Drews Lane Washford Heath, Birmingham. -- Last edit: 2006-09-17 22:37:22
