I am not sure yet just what this car is called but I am sure it is not a Miller/Offy.

There is another surviving car, the 1922 Murphy Special, which is the 1921 French GP winner, which also ran at Indy in 1921 and was rebuilt with a Miller 183 straight 8 for Jimmy Murphy to win the 1922 Indy 500. But this is not that car - it is #12.

There are more photos of the car above here - http://www.classiccars.ws/sales/1921duesenbergstraight8racer/#

The info with the car reads; - This eight-cylinder racer's early history can be traced back to Jim Steck of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Steck sold the car to Eldon Eby also of Kalamazoo. The eight's engine and transmission are believed to have documented race car history and were acquired from Nelson Thorpe. Buck Boudeman is also listed as a previous owner. Noted early Duesenberg engine restorer, Jim Hemmelsbach (Zakiras Garage), has expertly finished the car to its current racing condition. The car expertly ran through 50 gallons of fuel at the 2012 Miller meet. Hemmelsbach is regarded as the finest pre-war American race car restorer in the country. His restorations have taken top honours at many venues, including Pebble Beach and Amelia. The car has recently been invited to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg sponsored Thunder Run racing expo which was held September 6, 2015.

It was for sale for $375,000, which sounds like a lot of money but would be a lot more if it was an original car. I think it has been built up from parts - though to an excellent standard.
