Agree with the Triumph 2500 Mk2 part, but is there anything visual setting the Petrol Injection (PI) model distinctively apart from the Twincarb (TC)? Asking 'cause I don't know!

Actually, not really: it's definitely an Mk2 because of the black/plastic grille, but it could be either a 2000, 2500TC or PI. It seems they were actually assembled in New Zealand, where they might have been slightly different than UK models...

the 2.5PIs may have a vinyl covered c pillar.
I will have to delve into my old books later today.

The badge in the middle of the grille tells the model/engine size - not visible here.

If we could see the registration number I could do a search of the records.

Style of nose used also on sporty Stag of 1970(maybe to create a"family-feeling")

This is not a 2.5 PI, as the C-Pillar is not vinyl covered

It is a 2500 PI, even with no black vinyl on the last pillar, if you look better there is the PI inscription on the pillar and what is missing is only the vinyl! Might be stuck or never installed on a non British spec. car! Remember that Triumph always had different versions for 'hot' countries or more sunny climas and there were cars with no wooden dashboards or fairther decoration for those cases. So vinyl on the last pillar is a subtle detail to drive us to a correct verdict.
