1965 Coventry plate, and a Rootes-supplied car. Slatted rear bonnet lid only used on late Imp/Chamois Sport models and is non-original for an Imp Super, as are the front spotlights. Some recent code 3 models of this car exist, modified from the 1960s blue Corgi 251 saloon by "Culfi Toy Soldiers" in an edition of 100. Update: FHP 198C was a Super Imp Rallye 998cc, factory converted, which explains the slatted rear panel (and the instrument panel in 5th thumb of ep.8 set). Registered in Sept 65 for the Rootes PR/demonstration fleet; after film use was run for a 12,000 mile long-term test by Autocar magazine - http://www.imps4ever.info/family/rallye.html , http://www.imps4ever.info/Tim/rallye12000.html . -- Last edit: 2012-10-24 17:17:05 |
