Used in film as one of the Israeli's vehicles. In reality, the Israelis had purchased a Mercedes-Benz and painted black to make it look like Idi Amin's presidential limousine due to footage taken of President Amin getting out of the black Mercedes-Benz, but what the Israelis didn't know was that Amin had bought a white Mercedes-Benz prior to the raid and when the Israelis drove towards the terminal, two Ugandan sentries who both knew about Amin's white Mercedes had ordered the Israelis' black Mercedes to stop, leading the Israelis to killing the sentries and resulting in the loss of the Israelis' element of surprise. -- Last edit: 2021-11-22 06:56:30 |
