Wright New Routemaster |

I'm unsure what the official name for these is. New Routemaster is certainly commonly used, as is New Bus for London - Wright themselves had it as the latter on their website for a while, though now refer to it there simply as the Routemaster. |

Listed here as Wright New Routemaster... |

My point is that it's referred to by several different names, even by Wright themselves. If the rest on here are listed under New Routemaster I suggest we stick with that, for the time being at least. |

Since the start of the project, the media often referred to it as a new Routemaster, or as the Borismaster, but it didn't have a name for a good while. Then Transport for London decided the official name was to be "New Bus for London" (abbreviated as NB4L because textspeak is all the rage among the yoof these days). Then the abbreviation changed to NBFL, as can be seen in this operations' manual : Link to "www.whatdotheyknow.com" (including a pic of the VIN plate) Then TfL changed their minds and decided to adopt "New Routemaster" in time for 2014, and their "Year of the bus" celebrations. |
