Why under Spanish flag? It is a rebadged Isuzu, hence either Japan or Germany |

Indeed. It was a rebadged Isuzu, still built in Japan, for the Europe. -- Last edit: 2007-10-06 00:21:09 |

European version of the Isuzu Trooper sold in America. |

I can't answer for Europe, but in the UK the Vauxhall Monterey was sold by Vauxhall dealers at the same time as Isuzu Troopers were sold (rather more successfully) by Isuzu/Suzuki dealers. Didn't the Opel/Vauxhall version have an Opel engine? |

FWIK, they didn't. The Fronteras, OTOH, were actually assembled by Vauxhall/IBC (both Opel and Vauxhall versions) and thus had European engines and numerous other differences compared to JDM or USDM Isuzu Mysterious Utilities/Wizards/Amigos/Rodeos. |

AFAIK the Common Rail Diesel on post facelifted Montereys is an Opel engine. |
