That's because it's a 1955 DeSoto Diplomat (a 1955 re-trimmed Plymouth sold in Europe under the DeSoto name). |

De Soto Diplomat Custom of 1956 characterised bysmall rear fins ( which were not present on the 1955) and the lateral V chrome spears.The V motif on the grille identifies it as a series SP-29X with the V8 Hy-fire engine.De Soto Diplomats were basically re-badged Plymouths for the export markets outside the US. |
