The extra thumbs say “Yes”, so do the larger section tyres and the angle of the steering wheel. The longer engine meant that the taut rack and pinion steering of the Oxford was replaced by a looser Bishop cam box, and the steering column came into the car parallel to the centreline, “aimed like a lance at the driver’s sternum”. The Oxford’s column was angled to make the driver sit closer to the door, and, IIRC, the only extra chrome on the Isis would be the over riders and wheel trims, both of which could be fitted as extras to the four cylinder cars. If in doubt I normally say Oxford, as there were so few Isises (Ises?), especially the SII, built, but obviously wrong in this case. BTW, Isis Series II. -- Last edit: 2018-01-27 11:35:26 |
