Short story of Laverda: Started at XIXth Century's end by Francesco Laverda as farm machinery firm,was one of early makes to made combine harvesters in Italy(in the Eighties'farm division was merged into Fiatagri holding,today Case-New Holland Group);in the Fifties'starts the expansion in other motor vehicle sectors,like motorbikes(branch closed in the early Nineties',with interesting foreign-engines-powered bikes,with powerplants supplied by Husqvarna and Zundapp,done thru Seventies'/Eighties'),camping vehicles(since Sixties',among which caravans and later,tent-trailers,campers and motorhomes,a branch of which was a leading Brand in Italy for many years)and offroad-vehicles(like some 4WD small trucks in the Eighties'--Laverda X4--and quads in early years of XXIth Century) -- Last edit: 2007-06-20 00:18:03 |
