On thumbnail 2 and 3, we can see the fake street made for the scene, wit a screen behind the little boy :)

By the way, I like very much this Studebaker... it reminds me the Dinky-Toys model I had when I was kid.

I'm guessing that the guy that was run over next to the motorcycle on the sidewalk was actually a mannequin?...and that building front was made to tear up like this? (Especially the first part....look close at the last 5 pictures!!!)
