These bumpers indicate a 1200 model.

From the 1967? Totally easy: by the upright headlights. And the other doors with other mirrors. Other engine-lid, other rims, plus many other smaller details.

Apart from the headlights, what was there some sort of change between 1967 and 1968 model year such as the engine lid, rims and other details?

plus a different interior, resp.parts of it.
If you want to know all, you have to ask real hardcore-Beetle-freaks (as dealers for classic VWs or so)

@tore-40: do you know more about?

Most easily spotted are the headlights and fenders (non-US), and also the bumpers (except 1200 'Sparkäfer'), obviously.

Trigger door handle vs knob, different mirror(s), vent window opener with turning knob vs push-button, bigger, different shaped taillights [Image: ironing_smiley1.gif] (1200 'Sparkäfer' kept the smaller ones) and a different, shorter engine lid and higher 'apron' are other tell-tale signs

To be precise: the "flatiron taillights" were for the 1968+ 1300 and 1500 (and later the 1302), but never on any 1200. It had the small ones, which were changed (in 1974?) to the "elephant foots".

Yes indeed @ingo but the question was 1967 vs 1968 [Image: new_year_04.gif]

No. The question was 1967 VW 1200 vs 1968 VW 1200 :p
