This model was current from 1945 to about 1950. A-S were the first British maker to introduce a completely new model after WW2. We can't see which body style this is. Whitley and Lancaster were saloons, Hurricane was the convertible. |

Find the collector that paints his AS in orange-red and we have the model. Until then I would name it '16/18 h.p.' under which all versions were known. |

The car is a 1952 Whitley 18hp. It was painted that color combination when I received it from England. The car was donated to the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. They have had it for about 6 years and still have not put it on display. I hope they still have it. It may be the only one in the US. It was also in an unaired episode of Under Cover with John Rhys Davies. The series only lasted about 4 or 5 episodes and the car was in #6. |
