Seeing it's a single axle truck, It's a Peterbilt 289, With possibly a fiberglass hood and no external bracket's on fenders, With was only done in 1973, The truck was probably more than likely brnd new during filming, Seeing the movie came out in 1973... |

The 1100 Series cab started in late 1972 / 1973. With the 1973+ fiberglass hood (no brackets on fenders indeed), there's no other choice than a 1973 model year... Weird headlamps. |

Headlamps as shown were the standard. On the Jabraro (sp) 359, the dual lamp was optional. The external brackets for the fenders did not exist on early 359/289 hoods, the hood was redone in 1971/72 and those brackets at the front of the fenders were part of this refresh for the 119" aluminum hood. The corners of the bug screen appear to be square, not rounded, which would be the older hood. Fiberglass 359/289 did not have square corners on the bug screen. |
