You almost never see the ''General'' with it's lights out

You might want to keep this one for this movie. It would give people an idea of what the General Lee looks like with its headlights on.

I made extra pictures of General Lee, but I forgot to post them at that time. When I posted the other pictures of the movie, imageshack was so slow that I prefered to wait later for these:

1969 Dodge Charger R/T.

Non,pô R/T:les Charger R/T avaient une sorte de fausse prise d'air latérale sur les portières,ce qui n'est pô le cas de General Lee qui, comme les modèles non-R/T,a 2 petites encoches superposées à l'avant des portières.

I remember seeing an episode of the TV show where they were driving the General in the woods at night and the lights were on. I think that episode was about aliens or a UFO or something.

So maybe the movie wasn't the best. The cast of characters wouldn't have been my first choice. But everyone has to admit, it was nice seeing the General Lee on the big screen for the first time. And let's not forget Jessica in a bikini....

Here's a continuity error: when Roscoe shows up to impound the General, and the boys fire up the car, we see a bunch of shots of different parts of the General. In this scene, the headlights are already on, but as we see the different parts of the car, for a split second we see the Charger badge in the grille, which wouldn't have been visible with the lights on, as the emblem is on the headlight door, which would have to be in the open position...

Wasserspeier wrote Are there a lot of 1969 Dodge Chargers on the streets now or is it a rare car?

Can't answer this, but, just for the fun, I tried to found as many Finnish 1969 Chargers I could from the net.
With a short search I found three:

Isn't this General Lee an R/T? Gotta admit, this thing is a beauty, well so is Jessica Simpson, but this car is so legendary like the Starsky and Hutch Torino or the Batmobile

@CRAFT372 - Why was a separate entry made for another matching Charger?

because I read that the car used for the opening jump was a 1968 model and not a 1969 model because the production went through allot of different Dodge Chargers including models from 1968 and 1970 that they made look like 1969 models

Quote 1968 Dodge Charger 'General Lee'
Chassis no. XP29G8B441410
• Screen-used throughout The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) in chase and stunt-driving scenes where the car was not damaged
• Originally the production's "shell car", later completed as a hero/stunt General Lee used for both action and promotional work
• Built from a genuine 1968 Charger, disguised as a 1969 model for continuity with the original television series
• Retains original camera mounts beneath the chassis, full roll cage, reinforced suspension, and Vector 10-spoke wheels used for stunt work
• Still bears production labels "Car #19", "Pre-Hero 2", and "Hero Stunt #1", applied by Warner Bros.' picture-car department
• Featured in poster photography and Jessica Simpson's These Boots Are Made for Walkin' music video
• Offered with Warner Bros. Certificate of Authenticity
• Acquired by Movie Cars Central through auction from its previous owner

Originally assembled at Hamtramck as a 383ci-powered Charger, this car was later acquired by Warner Bros. for use in the 2005 film The Dukes of Hazzard. Built initially as a prototype "shell car" to define the modern General Lee specification, it was subsequently completed as a fully functional hero/stunt vehicle. Reinforced with a roll cage, uprated chassis, and heavy-duty suspension, it was used in high-speed chase and stunt sequences, as well as in non-destructive hero shots and promotional photography.
Though based on a 1968 model, the car was modified to 1969 specification to maintain continuity with the iconic television series. It retains rare production features such as its camera-rig mounts, on-set identification stickers, and Warner Bros. picture-car department markings confirming its screen use.
Following filming, the General Lee was sold via auction and later acquired by Movie Cars Central, where it has been preserved in authentic production condition.
Offered on a bill of sale and accompanied by period filming photographs, Warner Bros. documentation, and its 846A customs document, this represents a genuine screen-used example of one of the most recognisable and celebrated movie cars of all time.

Saleroom notices
Please note, after further research, we can confirm that this car has been used for bonnet slides scenes during the filming. Moreover, the car has been used in the Jessica Simpson's clip "These Boots are Made for Walkin".
