Too much bodywork to be a Mercer Raceabout... I'm thinking Stutz Bearcat. Annoyingly, nearly every image I can find of a Bearcat that shows the engine has the right side of the hood open. Yes, it’s a Bearcat and judging by the paint, it’s the same car used in The Great White Hope (1970) and Powderkeg (1971) in the same paint scheme. It was painted white in 1969-70 for “The Great White Hope”. It was owned at the time by Pacific Auto Rentals and used in many other films when it was painted red...in fact it’s the most seen Bearcat on this forum, including Wings of Eagles, My Mother the Car, Donna Reed Show, Green Acres, Summer Magic and a few others. -- Last edit: 2019-01-28 04:28:31 |
