I think you're thinking of the Danbury Mint...I know they claim to do the "first and only licensed replica" of the California Kid, and their version matches the below picture: Like many famous custom hot rods, I believe the car has undergone near constant revision, maintaining only the deep blue paint (yes, it's blue) and flame job.
