@maxp (and others): Yes, this is likely a 1966-67 Mercedes-Benz 250 SE/C [W 111], but it is most welcome if there is some arguing why one should be believed. That is as many Mercedes's look the same. My explanation is that it (apart from the obvious chromed wheel embellishers available originally on the W 113, but also on the W 111 250 SE/C, the W 112 300 SE/C, the W 108 250 S, 250 SE and 250 SE and finally the W 109 300 SEL during the years 1966-67 and a few mounths, and on some models, in 1968. But it has in resent years been added to various restored models regardless of the year it was made.) has a stright foot on the door mirror available 1966-67. It should have had the safety inside rear view mirror (introduced in the autumn of 1965 on the W 108/W 109 models) which was black rather than chromed, but at least the 1966 SE/C models had the chromed one. It has no chrome strip on the waist which should exclude the W 112 models, and not the 1968+ grille with fewer 'squares'. |
