According to this site https://www.mbspares.com.au/Gallery/An-Australian-Mercedes-Benz.aspx , Australian-made variants of the W111 were 220S, 220Sb, 220SE and 220SEb. |

Mmm, I thought it was a 220 of some sort, just not sure which! |

The inside rear view mirror is chromed, hence it's a 220 rather than a 230. It has two chrome strips beside the grille, one on the hood/bonnet and one beneath. Thus it's a 220 Sb or SEb rather than a 220 b which only had one strip. That is a 1959+, or rather 1960+ because in 1959 only pre production models were made, Mercedes-Benz 220 Sb or SEb. Or when was it introduced 'Down under'? |

Plate number dates from 1965, which doesn't help much... Similar vehicle, episode 100. No closer / better shots possible. |

Yes it does! As the 230 was introduced in 1966, it can only be a 220. That is a 220 Sb or SEb because of earlier comments. -- Last edit: 2017-04-05 11:28:05 |
