2007-04-21 22:07 | They are all from 1960. -- Last edit: 2007-04-21 22:08:27 |
2007-04-21 22:49 | The one on the upper-right-hand corner it clearly a DeSoto, and I'm going to guess an Adventurer. |
2007-04-21 23:04 | The white sedan is a DeSoto as well, the red car is a Dodge Dart Two-door Sedan, the wagon a big Dodge Matador/Polara. |
2007-04-21 23:08 | I will wager the bottom car is a De Soto Diplomat Club Sedan sharing the US Dodge Dart platform. Not sure if it was for US or an export model. http://www.philseed.com/desoto1960.html This website answered my question: "All cars shown here are export models" -- Last edit: 2007-04-21 23:59:47 |
2007-04-21 23:51 | You're right, and this is a 4d hardtop. The Fireflite series did not have any exterior nameplates. The only other series in 1960 was the pricier Adventurer. No fender spript: http://www.duricy.com/~desoto/desaga/destop.shtml http://www.misterw.com/DeSoto/60DeSoto02.html http://www.misterw.com/DeSoto/60DeSoto03.html http://www.misterw.com/DeSoto/60DeSoto04.html -- Last edit: 2007-04-22 00:11:34 |
2007-04-22 00:06 | which one are we listing? |
2007-04-22 00:07 | Typical publicity of European edition of Reader's Digest of 1960!!! |
2007-04-22 00:10 | either |
2007-04-22 00:14 | Black or dark colored car on left is also De Soto Diplomat 4d Station Wagon. Tough to decide which car deserves this page more. Ok definitely the Adventurer 4d. The Fireflite has a page here: vehicle_89990-De-Soto-Fireflite-1960.html and hopefully a better 1960 Diplomat will roll along someday. -- Last edit: 2007-04-22 00:22:26 |
2007-04-22 00:15 | The silver or gray car in the upper left has to be the Fireflite if the Adventurer is already pictured. |
2008-01-27 00:36 | The wagon and the red car are Diplomats. They are re-badged Darts for over seas sales. The two top cars look like Adventurers or Fireflights. |
