|     Also best known under the name 'Messerschmitt Tiger', both names are not official. Willy Messerschmitt pulled out of the microcar production in 1956 and from January 1957 all cabin rollers were badged and marketed under the name FMR (Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau Regensburg), the place were the were produced. The name 'Tiger', even though they wanted to use it, was already owned by Krupp for their heavy trucks. |

| Wir sollten trotzdem alle Messerschmitt und FMR als 'Messerschmitt' listen. Die Fahrzeuge sind weltweit als Messerschmitt bekannt. Messerschmitt und FMR kann man nicht aus allen perspektiven unterscheiden. Die Umbenennung war politischer Zwang. Verkaeufer und Besitzer sprachen weiterhin vom Messerschmitt. Wer hier bei IMCdB unter Messerschmitt fuendig wird, wird warscheinlich nicht zusaetzlich auch noch unter FMR suchen. |
