1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown 4D HT Series BY1-M I'm not an Imperial expert, but I took the information from www.imperialclub.org to reach my conclusion. 66= Wheel cover style with holes on the outer ring, instead of the smooth outer rings of 64-65. No chrome on the flare on the rear fenders. No ID badges behind the front wheel opening also makes it a Crown, the entry-level Imperial of 1966. Some very usefel pictures: http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1966/SpottersGuide/trophy.jpg 1966 Crown 4d Hardtop http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1964/SpottersGuide/Wheelcover.jpg 64 Wheel cover http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1965/SpottersGuide/Wheelcover-3.jpg 65 Wheel cover http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1966/SpottersGuide/Wheelcover.jpg 66 Wheel cover which is correct on this car -- Last edit: 2007-04-16 06:19:10 |

Imperial, not "Chrysler Imperial". Imperial was a separate make then. |

That’s a 1964 Imperial. The wheel covers are from 1964, and one other way to tell the difference is that both ‘64 and ‘65 had taller and slightly more notorious chrome trim atop their fenders than ‘66s. |
