VU 8765 leads to this tired looking example on a trailer:

"Currently owned by Bob Seabourne of Bridgwater, Somerset - 1932 Austin 12/4 High Lot Taxi rare saloon version. Chassis no. 69691 Engine no. 70185L.
It is understood that for every four laundelettes one saloon was produced and the ‘High Lot’ is more desirable as the model is not fitted with the worm drive back axle. This taxi requires a re-spray and a re-trim, but the engine runs with 30psi when started. Within the file is an expired MOT certificate dated 4th July 2013."

Possibly re-imported from USA however the closed-in section next to the driver looks to have been modified to the conventional open luggage area?

VU 8765 was not registered as a London Taxi by Mann & Overton so probably used outside of the capital.

edit: From further investigations there appears to be two aspects to the body design in the movie

1) The saloon body has fixed roof rear section without the folding landaulette roof.
2) The closed in section next to the driver and having four doors is for a provincial taxi or private hire vehicle, not a taxi licenced for use in London.

There's an Austin 12/4 Taxi with a VU registration in Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent but it is listed as a 1930 model.

I'll leave it to the experts to decide whether it is the same car.

The appearance of the Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent taxicab looks the same without the folding landaulette roof, however views of the left side are not seen. Yes, likely to be the same taxicab with saloon body.
