Ou-i - silver strips on grille of 1308 GT (and no 1309 SX wheels).

In thumb is 1307 GLS.

What are the optical differences between 1307, 1308 and 1309?

btw.: the whole range, even the brand is totally extinct now. When we want to make coloured photocopies in our office, we have to press the combination "1307" - when I tell my colleagues (mainly younger than me) "think about the car!" as mnemonic, noone understands me...

Years ago, we had a programme for writing letters, where you had to enter three-digit codes for the text modules. Thanks to my car-related mnemonics I was always the fastest. So I wrote the first letter to the customer always according "Audi-Skoda-Fiat-Fiat-Mercedes-BMW" (= "100-120-124-130-200-520") :D

120 was a Volvo series, too and there was an Audi 200. I remember my own bancomat pin using the three digit Fiat colour code. I used at the beginning yo keep them in my wallet. I don't think a thief could undestand the connection or, if so, know the colours codes.

p.s. I would understand you immediately, dear Ingo.

i use similar way for time , for example, if i have to wake up at 6:30 i'll set the alarm at Mazda time ( 6:26 ) . Also useful to remember time for medication...

the most busy one is in the 9 hours zone with a lot of Porsche, a Volvo and a Mazda... :)

In short - most noticeable differences:
- 1307 GLS - thin chrome around front and rear window seals (so you can still see the black rubber there), no silver B-pillars, no hubcaps
- 1307 S - chromed trim covers whole front and rear window seals, silver B-pillar, black hubcaps
- 1308 GT - same what above + silver strips on the grille (headlamps wipers in standard)
- 1308 S - rare - visually same what 1307 S
- 1309 SX - from the outside same what 1308 GT, but with side moldings and different wheels.

No, for sure they were part of 1308 GT standard equipment (and optional in other trim levels) already in first MY - in 1976. They are even to see on 1975 promo/press pictures.
Well, maybe Italy had them one year later, but somehow I doubt it
