Why are they crushing this rare car? There are useful parts that collector's would probably like. |

Probably because the sellouts responsible think it makes good television. |

They were trying to get Roy (the hoarder) to let of his vehicles because he didn't want to part with any. The county had also ordered the removal of ALL vehicles from his property regardless. In a matter of speaking, it's a shame very few were salvaged. |

Because many people when they see old cars parked in the woods the only vocabulary they know is 'eyesore.' |

They should have have at least tried to auction off some of these old cars even if they were hulking rust buckets because as they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. |

Exactly, the hosts of the show obviously know nothing about automobiles, and to them, everything was trash. Most of the vehicles listed here, while unusual, hold no value (the trucks, the Subarus, the Toyotas). The producers were obviously more concerned about teaching Roy a lesson by destroying his cars, forcing him to part with them, rather than calling people with expertise to come in and pull out the valuable ones and auctioning them off. I read elsewhere that they destroyed 8 vehicles, and carted off the carcasses on flatbeds to hope that it was enough to satisfy the judge. |

In the US it was 'Datsun Sports 1600' or 'Datsun Sports 2000'. |

I'd say 2000 -- Last edit: 2015-11-08 22:06:41 |

I haven't seen the episode, but in this case, Roy is right. |
