1988-98 model with the 1994+ front face. |

It has the 1997+ dash. I believe that the heavy-duty trucks continued in this style up until about 2001. |

@ Ford_Guy: What do you call "heavy-duty"? As far as I know, GM stopped his heavy-duty truck lines in 1988 by selling them to Volvo. |

You're misreading me. I'm not using the term "heavy-duty" as it related to official GM usage. Most people would just classify anything the size of, or bigger than, a 1-ton truck as "heavy duty." |

So "heavy-duty" is now the common name for what was called "medium-duty" before and stands here just for the 1-ton 3500 models? Ok -- Last edit: 2015-08-11 01:12:21 |

Yes. I think a large part of that can be owed to the "Super Duty" designation that Ford has or the "HD" designation that Dodge/Ram and GM use. |

@eLMeR: Basically we are talking about two different 3500 weight class for this series. Regular 3500 weight class (also sold in Cab-Chassis form): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chevy_K3500_Crew_Cab_Dually.jpg Heavy duty 3500HD weight class (only available in Cab-Chassis form): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:GMC_C-K_3500HD_Regular_Cab.JPG |

That's actually not what we were referring to rjluna. We were just talking about how the words "heavy duty" are basically thrown around. |

Sorry to confused eLMeR some more, Ford_Guy To make it worse, we are also talking the big rig as 'Heavy Duty' as well -- Last edit: 2015-08-11 01:59:48 |

No trouble here, rjluna2, I "record" your information (that I already saw) for other identifications The hardest part for me will be to keep in mind that someone speaking of "heavy-duty" trucks may in fact think about "baby heavy-duty" vehicles -- Last edit: 2015-08-11 02:10:52 |

That is one way of thinking on this, eLMeR |
