Sharp observation, because it does look like it says GMC. |

(1981 brochure) As two separate words, but already there. I didn't find 1980 literature, but the Chevrolet/GMC siblings have been unveiled with the Kodiak/TopKick names in 1980. -- Last edit: 2015-03-24 18:56:36 |

This isn't a TopKick as the front end and name badge don't match up. It's a lighter C-Series. |

Indeed. Medium-duty C-Series, with the tilt-hood option (standard is Alligator hood), available from 1973 onwards: it has the the same kind of opening as the TopKick, with the visible rubber strap. That's what led to the Topkick idea, I think: (The 1974 brochure about the tilt-hood option) (1982 Chevrolet Brochure. From background to foreground: "Alligator-hood" medium-duty, "Tilt-hood" one and Kodiak) About "ours": 1973 default model year? -- Last edit: 2015-03-25 22:20:13 |
