This is a Ford Cortina Mk. IV, not a Granada. |

Or a Taunus, since it was known as Taunus outside the UK ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-01-17 14:32:35 |

But this is filmed in Singapore, a left traffic country, where this car was always named Cortina. AFAIK of this [TC2]-Ford there was a LHD Cortina, but never a RHD Taunus. Or am I wrong? ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-01-17 14:36:55 |

^ You're correct as far as I know. But there's always a possibility of an as yet unrecognised strange permutation in somewhere equally strange ... |

Most probably built in Singapore: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Ford_Motor_Factory any comments? |

I've never seen any reference to Cortina assembly in Singapore. |

I found something very hidden on the Cortina's wikipedia page: Link to "en.wikipedia.org" An article about Ford in Singapore on a German Ford enthusiasts page lists some of the models produced locally: Ford Model Y Ford V8 (CKD from Canada, 1936 - ca. 1941) Ford Anglia/Prefect 100E Ford Consul 204E Ford Zephyr/Zodiac 206E + later Zephyr & Zodiac models http://www.fomcc.de/malaya.htm Car production in Singapore lasted until 1980, but no specific models were named for the 1970s. |

New info from World Car Catalogue - various editions (1967-81) for Singapore car assembly listed as Malaysia, supplied from UK: 1967 - Anglia, Cortina, Corsair, Zephyr, Zodiac 1969 - Escort, Cortina 1971 - Escort, Cortina 1975 - Escort, Cortina 1981 - Escort, Cortina 67 and 69 references to Ford US-sourced assembly and then in 71 as Ford CDN-sourced, but no detail on models or anything after 71. Nothing at all about any Ford Germany sourcing |
