several built all 318's except for 1 hemi which is at www.volostarcars.com |
◊ 2006-03-19 09:29 |
If it have 318, it's not R/T |
◊ 2006-07-06 06:40 |
All the cars were R/T clones, just as all the Camaros were Yenko clones. The stunt cars were 318 powered, since outfitting all of them with Hemi engines would be unnessecesary and VERY expensive. |

Not as fast as a 1970 Dodge Charger |

Id like to meet the guy who decided to crash a 70 challenger . . . . . . . . . . so I can punch him in the head. |
◊ 2007-01-01 23:15 |
Me too...by the way, it's R/T SE due to vinyl-covered top and leather seats (I hope it was leather seats) -- Last edit: 2007-01-01 23:15:50 |

Agreed, my friend. Agreed. |
◊ 2007-04-01 18:55 |
The SE had a smaller rear window so it was just an R/T. I argree with those who want to punch the guy that decided to crash it |
◊ 2007-04-07 04:11 |
Is this the charger in the first one |
◊ 2007-05-11 16:25 |
Um, no. Don't know where you'd get that idea because the first one featured a black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 and this is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 426. They're completely 2 different cars. |
◊ 2007-05-16 18:15 |
Yeah, thats pretty funny about the charger. I agree with all of you who want to punch the dude in the head. For real. |

One of the several cars used for this film was given to the Spike TV show MuscleCar, and is being restored. It was one of the 318 stunt cars not crashed. And yes, anyone who's willing to wreck an E-body mopar for a crap movie should be punched multiple places. Even Vanishing Point used a CAMARO to crash into the bulldozers at the end - look close, it's a '67 Camaro quarter panel, and Chev rally rim in the shot. |

Fewer were built than that: Only 382 Hemi Challengers were built in 1970, and an additional 75 were built in 1971. Of course, as was said before, none of the cars in the film are real Hemi cars, although they are apparently modeled after one of the real 1970 Hemi Challengers, which is today owned by Jay Leno. |

If your going to build a Challenger R/T clone, don't build a 425hp Hemi. Build a 600hp Hemi and really destrroy those imports. |

Man that Challenger was the bomb, hopefully they bring it back for the new Fast & Furious flik that takes place in Brazil.:miam: -- Last edit: 2009-09-23 01:42:24 |

It's so nice to see that the Dodge Challenger is one the few musclecars that looks like it did back in the late-60s/early-70s. |
◊ 2010-08-09 23:05 |
I would like to KILL him |
◊ 2010-11-14 22:58 |
True that, but think that it went down in glory save a fake life. |
◊ 2010-11-14 23:02 |
I don't know what I like better in this movie that Yenko or Hemi what do you think? |
◊ 2010-12-04 19:51 |
Personally I prefer the Yenko, But thats probably just because i'm more of a camaro fan. Still, the Hemi is a nice car. -- Last edit: 2010-12-04 19:52:18 |

◊ 2011-04-10 01:04 |
volo again, the same guys who say they've got the MV car despite them not having the vin number or the paperwork from universal and that fact that the guy who has car 4 has the paperwork for it -- Last edit: 2011-06-11 18:20:48 |

◊ 2011-10-25 02:24 |
Okay, just make the camaro a replica! |
◊ 2012-04-14 19:10 |
Badass! |
◊ 2012-04-15 09:45 |
They should destroy the import cars... Not thess classics |
◊ 2012-08-15 07:00 |
Yup! 318 or hemi, it could have a slant 6 and a column shift automatic for all I care, still should NEVER be wrecked! |

Same builder of this car, Ted Moser, also built our 1970 Challenger which filmed in "The Bucket List", "NCIS" and a few more. Our Challenger is to be raffled. For more info, please visit: www.challengerbucketlistncisraffle.com |

According to a discussion in this video from Movie Cars Central, some of the cars used were originally junk, and made more pretty for the movie |
