Sunbeam Rapier Convertible series III (Model Year 1960) Series III (and not series II) because of the side flash. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SunbeamRapierSeries3Convertible.jpg |

Also go for a Sunbeam Rapier Series II ca 1961.It has pointed rear fender wings .On Singer Gazelles those were much flatter. |

pilou, I'm tending to think Series II now because the side flash looks to curve down slightly although the picture is not that clear? |

Yes , on series III , the side flash did not curve down and was rather straight and slim.So it may well be a II as you say. What puzzles me a bit here is that the side flash colour does not cover the entire outer surface of the rear fender wings as was normally the case on series II Sunbeam Rapiers. On the other hand those wings look quite pointed for a Singer. But the picture is unclear and very small and I cannot longer rely 100 % on my eyes.So another Rootes mystery? |

1958 S2 - as most comments. Side flash totally wrong for S3. Agree comments why it's not Gazelle. |
