In Funeral in Berlin, a Soviet general defects to the west inside a coffin (IIRC it purportedly contains the body of an American who died in East Germany). His escape is much more mundane that MacGyver's, though; the East Berlin hearse drives to a checkpoint, where the coffin is taken out, carried across the frontier and placed in a West Berlin hearse. -- Last edit: 2006-12-13 17:39:38 |

Looks more like a Hanomag L28 pretending to be Opel Blitz. |

Whether it´s an Opel or a Hanomag - the coachwork was done by one of the finest German hearsemakers, namely "Luchterhand & Freytag" of Berlin. The company stopped hearse production several decades ago and eventually went out of business. |

The East-Berlin-plate is obviously faked. |
