'Beetle' is (very popular) but nickname still. Australian 50s advertisments said just 'Volkswagen'. Only one genuine 1955 advertisment claimed '5-seater Saloon'. Time to time you can read 'Deluxe' name. Info about 1961 new 66 cars fleet for Avis rent-a-car use the name '1200 Deluxe' The '1200 Standard' was available for 1963. |
