Apparently all early TKs should be listed as model year 1961 not 1958.

Although on IMCDb the introduction date for the Bedford TK range is shown as 1958, it was first introduced in September 1960, so should be model year 1961.

The magazine 'Commercial Motor' 9th September 1960, Page 70

The new range not only supersedes previous Bedford forward-control models (of which more than 80,000 were made in 10 years), but also extends the range available. ... the TK series includes 3 and 4-ton models on 16-in. wheels and at the other end of the range a 7½-ton chassis offered as a normal load carrier, a tipper or a 12-ton tractive unit.

In a later road test it also states "The Bedford TK range made its debut late in 1960 and was the second of the "new look" vehicles that are today commonplace."

The website www.nationaltransportmuseum.org (Transport Museum of Ireland) states 1960 for the TK
'1961 saw the low-cab forward control TK’ http://www.eclipse.co.uk/swvans/bedford1.htm

The Wikipedia entry "The TK range replaced the S type in 1959" has no source media listed and is out by at least a year although 1959 would be the last full year of S-Type (or more correctly C-type) production.

Sounds like we need one of Sir Admin's block updates for all 58 and 59 entries to 61 (I've been through and updated everything I can in those years from plate info, but there were not that many). As far as I can tell we have no 58/59/60 plate dates on any (UK) TKs.

We have loads of undated TKs which probably would benefit from a real effort to assign years - I keep having a go every so often which gets a few sorted but it's still a big block. One of my problems is losing track of the different changes - indicators (round lollipop, square lollipop, cabside slivers plus possibly high and low positions for lollipops), front badge sequence, B E D F O R D letters (size, colour, position), front badge (colour, background). Plus possibly whether grille colour (black, white or body colour) is relevant, which is confused further by some liveries.

So can someone compile a definiive list of what/when so we have a complete checklist?? And anything known for Turkish/Aus/NZ/anywhere else production - date range, updates etc??

As work in progress, I've got a crib sheet that I've generated over a few years but it still needs adding to for the TK. So recently I have been going through the Commercial Motor Archive for the Bedfords and Austin Morris BMCs between 1950-70 as a good source of info. Post WWII preserved vehicles are generally unreliable because they have been restored and 'improved' with later features in some cases.

I spent some time on Austin Morris BMC / FG WE & WF / FE etc. recently but I can probably tackle some Bedfords soon as well.

Power to your elbow. I'll keep chipping away with the clues I can cope with, but my envelope is fairly small.
