Odd, it is way too big to be a K-car, regulations of this time were 3 meters long, 1,3 meters wide and engine displacement 360cc.

Don't say I those things,so was written on "Registration Plates of the World"2004 ed.,edited by Europlate in UK;if was a fake jap plate for scenes and adapted at car,the error was due at movie director that don't knew better plates of our country)

PS in fact the "5"vehicle class couldn't be suitable for a Minor, being those 803cc.,948 cc.and 1098 cc.in according with model year

No this wouldn't have been a kei-car plate. It would've been a "5" plate for smaller vehicles (ie. Minors, Datsuns, Corollas, etc). Plus this looks like a real plate and not a prop plate IMO, not that we can check the info... :/

(yes I know I'm responding to a 15yo comment)

There was also the 918cc side valve version, which used an updated 1934 engine as originally designed for the Morris Eight, after Issigonis’ original idea for a flat four was abandoned.

I wonder why this car is fitted with 1949 bumpers? Perhaps it was originally built for USA market, (therefore not “made for J”), and came to J with a serviceman or civil servant. It appears to be lhd.

So this can be a 1949 model made for USA?

The bumpers with centre plate on both front and rear were 1948-50, and the bonnet badge matches MM, not Series II. Painted grille on UK cars was Feb 51 (previously chrome), after twin wipers had arrived in Oct 50. US exports with raised headlights were Oct 49 onwards - other markets (UK and export) did not get them until start of 51 on 2-door, which is about when the full bumpers without plate arrived (always fitted to 4-door, launched Oct 50, slightly delayed for 2-door). So early 51 MM as one of the last plate bumpers is best fit.

Rear bumper has reflectors and the vertical free-standing rear plate mount look made-for-J elements.
