Both cars wear a rather large rally plate at the front, the kind of which wasn't used in the Mille Miglia. Looking more closely at these plates, I do think they're from the Liège-Rome-Liège endurance rally. |

Neither car has a passenger, which probably excludes Mille Miglia idea (which was never a very strong suggestion), and suggests a circuit race. Would Liège-Rome-Liège have had circuit stages with just the driver? |
