madmaxmovies.com says, that this car recieve XB grille to fit this front spoiler. |

The car is an XA coupe, with the front parkers and indicators discarded or covered up, with an XB grille, obviously, as you said to suite the front modifications. XAs were available from '71 to '72 -- Last edit: 2006-05-23 18:58:06 |

Probably late XA or early XB. I found a couple of this type of vehicle while I was scanning australia motor ebay with XA rear and XB front. I can't tell what style the instrument panel inside this vehicle. |

XA rear lights (tilt on angle) , XA Doors (different handles), XA bonnet (XB has mustang style pressing some with some without scoops)judging by these facts id say its a XA Coupe. Sad to say regardless its now prob a tin can or somebody fridge as it gets smashed big time. |

it's an XA Hardtop with an XY grille (not XB) & either P5 LTD/Landau front guards or XA/ZF/XG front guards with the park-light/indicator holes filled in. -- Last edit: 2018-04-17 09:31:31 |

Having owned an XB, that's definitely a blacked out standard XB grille. Hard to tell from these photos, but an XY grille is a lot shallower and has vertical fins rather than the deep-set honeycomb grille panels in the XB. |

Behind the scenes photos show that it was originally yellow with white interior. Supposedly powered by a 302 Cleveland/automatic combo. |

when I was a kid and before I knew a lot about the Australian fords, I always thought this car was a Modified '69 or '70 Mercury cougar because of the lines in the hood and quarters that are very similar. I think this was one of thee cars in this movie I thought when I was younger were based on Cougars.... but Now I know these were all Australian Falcons, Like Max's car. such a cool looking car. |
