They have also a 307 sedan over there.
I like the Citroen-Dongfeng ZX-sedan! Do you know it?

Ah, Renault Siete ! I saw few of them in Crete.

The Chinese also have a Citroen C4 sedan called "Triomphe". The Dongfeng-Citroen ZX "Fukang" sedan looks so natural I often wonder why didn't Citroen built that car in the first place.

I do, and also the C4 and 307, I think they came out rather ok....

They say there is no market for sedans of this kind in Europe. Although I hear now that the C4 Sedan is coming here anyway in 2007....

Former in 1974 was Renault Siete(=seven),a R5 with trunk(the same was assembled also by local Renault filial in Iran,SAIPA Firm),changed as R7 in early '80s(because at period of movie the name R7 wasn't used still, that's a Renault Siete, not R7)

PS Curiosly, around 1987 in Spain was launched the Emelba Siete(!),a one-box MPV vehicle that some years before was named Emelba Family Car(with Seat Ibiza front nose and based on Seat Ronda modified floorpan)...I imaginate when Renault had known that a concurrent Spanish brand had re-used the same name of their-built car!!!...

Siete is just 7 in Spanish.
It seems that they used both forms.

But early 1974 ones shown back a silver tag with "s-i-e-t-e" spelled in small corsive letters;later(around 1980)was adopted Renault 7(R7 abreviated, but that graphic variation don't appear on car name's trunk tag

What I was meaning is that even if on the car itself it was Siete, it is often refered as 7. There are lots of other cars where both letters & numbers are used, depending on the case (e.g. Chevrolet Two-Ten/210, etc.)

If it stays Siete, do we have to rename the other one :??:

I've always seen these "R7" badged "Siete" and not "Renault 7"

I found few commercial documents with "Renault 7", but as datsunZ said they were from later models.
Mainly the following site, with picture of car & catalog, difficult to get better proofs :D
http://www.renault-5.net/siete.htm

good find this site about the "siete-7" .. :)
I learned something new... so this 7 is a "Siete" or a "7" depending on the year?

The Renault Siete was presented in the fall of 1974, and was launched to sold to the public early 1975. Besides, the green color I think was available until 1976 or 1977

It is a Renault Siete TL, 1974-78. The colour set changed completely with the slight re-style as "Renault 7" in 1979.
