I think...really, am pretty sure...this is a 1932 Essex Terraplane or 1933 Terraplane, built by Hudson. It must be an export model, as it is righthand drive. The bright strip down the center of the grille is NOT stock U.S. Terraplane, perhaps it was added by the movie company to disguise the car?

roymarks wrote I own this car - I'm thrilled to finally find a film it was in. Does anyone know of other movies it is in? Please let me know. mrmdcf@msn.com It was sold by Pacific Auto Rentals in 1951, but they had rented it to movies since 1937. Years and owners later I got it. I have a Pacific Publicity shot of it; my dad had written them about buying it in 1951. It was origionally shipped to India - hence the right hand drive. It also happens to be the only Detroit bodied Terraplane phaeton known, and we've been watching since 1951. Wheelsinreels is to be commended; the identification is uncanny - in fact the car is both a 1932 and a 1933. It is a 1932 Terraplane Phaeton which was 46 from last car Hudson produced that year. By the time it reached India it was sold as a 1933, which the title says. Its full VIN is 20110 X; the X is for export. mrmdcf@msn.com

I sold the 1932 Essex-Terraplane to Calvin Buchannon in Texas. He is restoring it. Roy
