So it is.

In any case, I doubt that the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was importing French cars during the 1980s. :)

C'est marrant, je suis pas le seul à avoir douté de la 505 Break... Par contre, les blanches sont bien des 505!

Mais pourquoi je me plante chaque fois entre les deux ? Bon je déplace les vraies 505...

You're doubts are correct. They produced French cars ;)
However as said on the pages of the GS, this isn't really Vietnam, but Thailand:

In the same scene there are also the Peugeot 305/505.

I know it's Thailand. Obviously someone said "This is supposed to be Vietnam -- we need French cars." without thinking about how old they should be.

Recall 305 was built under license in Taiwan by Yeu Tyan(those that had built Honda-Peugeot SC 50-based P.G.O.scooters),but they have made only the saloon, not the wagon(badged Peugeot, not P.G.O.,Brand reserved only at scooters);another possibility could be were South-African made by Sigma Motor Corporation(Chrysler-Mitsubishi-PSA-joint venture born at end of Seventies in South-Africa),but also they had assembled the saloon, not the wagon(Taiwanese and South-African 305 were both RHD)

Unless the 305 was assembled in Thailand, this one is likely to be French, isn't it?

P.S. Taiwan drives on the right, so cars for that market would be LHD.
