Can this please be re-classified as a saloon. The chassis is a Bentley Motors MkVI rather than anything modified, and even the Standard Steel Saloons were referred to by the press as “Sports Saloons”. Described in Bernard King’s book as “4d6l saloon”. Supplied new to Capt. P. Gibbs, fitted with electric driver’s window.

so, Standard Steel Saloon in extra ?

No, no. It’s a coachbuilt, but “Sports Saloon” means nothing really.

It would seem reasonable to describe it as a 4 door 6 light saloon by Hooper.

i'm a little bit late for the reply but thanks :)
i'm totally lost when it comes to RR/Bentley... even today ( except the SUVs, for obvious reasons.. )

No need to worry about being late, we all do this as a relaxation. I have been steeped in Bentley lore for almost all of my life, and still only scratching the surface. Even the Standard Steel Saloons are quite likely to have differences one from another..

BTW, my knowledge only extends to the end of the S Series/Silver Cloud models. 1965.
