So it seems "Roma 142698" is the same car used in this as well as these /vehicle.php?id=385531 /vehicle.php?id=529128 /vehicle.php?id=39693 and about 80 films in total since the '70s according to this Link to "www.alfacompanion.com" ..and yes, is confirmed as a Ministeriale (though from what I've been reading and understand not all lwb 2500's of this vintage were) Chassis # of this car is reported as [914073] and year 1939. -- Last edit: 2022-01-08 00:57:27 |

I improvised the ID with 1942 and Ministeriale because Gianfranco Conti is listed as the owner here so if he says 1942 Ministeriale, he should know. But on the other page he says 1942 6 LUCI 7 POSTI, and he hasn't claimed some of the other sightings (which I agree look like "Roma 142698"), so I stopped editing any further. It's unusual to add owners who haven't claimed each sighting, but maybe in this case we should complete the task on his behalf with the three you've identified above?? And any others you can find lurking unrecognised?? |

You can also edit this /vehicle_17482-Alfa-Romeo-6C-2300-B-1938.html which apparently is a 2500 (can't find now what I did then and differentiated between a '38 2300 B and a '39 2500 which look almost the same). Since Gianfranco Conti had it the car has changed hands at least a couple of times. Sotheby's who sold the car in 2020 says that Luigi Fusi (well known Alfa historian/guru) documents this as a '39 first registered in 1940. I found this page ![]() ![]() |

I'm tempted to suggest: - add Berlina Ministeriale to all those you've picked out - add [914073] to all those you've picked out - remove Gianfranco Conti as owner in all cases as he doesn't own the car now, and may not have been the owner when some of its screen appearances happened (or was he??). If we've got all sightings annotated as [914073], then the group will show up as a batch Which only leaves a decision between 1939 and 1942. Thoughts?? |

-Yes -Yes (also note we can't see the reg. on the Malena car but one of the links I found in the other posts mentions the movie) -either Mr. G. Conti doesn't remember correctly or Mr. Fusi has got this wrong (he's been known to have errors in his book but usually chassis # typos not something like this). Still, I found this (dutch I think) page which says all 914xxx chassis were produced in 1939 and 1940 ![]() ....perhaps if you rent out to movies and tv about 250 different cars maybe you can mix up some details? (though he seemed pretty sure of the year) -no offence Mr. Conti if you're reading this! -- Last edit: 2022-01-08 03:09:09 |

Ok - agree 1939 seems best policy. Awaiting other comments from Admin HQ about protocols for removing owner before I pounce. In a way, it doesn't matter too much if these are wrong steps, as creating a batch under chassis number means we can return and amend again if required. Edit: no responses about removing owner, so I've done it alongside the other edit details. So we now have 5 sightings of [914073] grouped together. -- Last edit: 2022-01-09 20:05:42 |
