Yes, Ford supplied a White w/Blue Racing Stripes 1976 Ford Mustang Cobra II for "Charlie's Angels." Farrah Fawcett as "Jill Munroe" first drove it and after she left Cheryl Ladd as "Kris Munroe" took over the wheel. I believe that the '76 was later updated to a '77 model.

They used a variety of 1974 through 1978 Ford Mustang Cobra II models which the color was white with dark sapphire blue racing stripes, also includes a hood scoop and factory spinner spoke mags with blackwall tires. The car was first driven Farrah Fawcett's character Jill Munroe during the first season from 1976 to 1977. During the season two through five the car was driven Cheryl Ladd's character Kris Munroe which is actually Jill's younger sister.

Actually they never used any 1974 Mustangs. I don't believe they even had the "Cobra II" model available yet in 1974. Mustang II started in 74 and went to 78 but I don't think the Cobra II model became available until 76. They started with 1976 models of all their cars, except Kate Jackson's ("Sabrina Duncan") Orange Pinto 3-Door Runabout--which was a new 77 model and David Doyle's ("John Bosley") Forest Green Thunderbird, which was also a new 77 model. As for the Mustang Cobra II, they started with the one pictured here, a 1976 model. As the show went on, they did update it at least once to a 77 model. They may have also eventually updated it again to a 78 model. But the 1977 or 78 year was the last model updated and used to the end of the show in 1981.

As I stated in my earlier post, yes, Farrah Fawcett ("Jill Munroe") drove the Cobra II first during the first season (1976-1977). When she left the show after the first season, Cheryl Ladd ("Kris Munroe") drove it from then on (except in the fifth and final sesason Hawaii episodes when the Townsend Agency had all different cars provided by GM). Farrah was beautiful and she'll always be known as one of the first Angels...but sorry Farrah fans, I will always love Cheryl Ladd the best with Jaclyn Smith ("Kelly Garrett") coming in a darn close second! LOL!

Nice Pics!! "Angel Come Home" is one of my favorite episodes! It's "Jill's" (aka Farrah Fawcett) first return episode and it's the first episode where you get to see the sisters, "Kris" and "Jill" (aka Cheryl Ladd and Farrah) together! I'm not sure if these pics are still of the original 1976 Cobra II or if by this time it was the 77 model? Either way, it's the most famous "Charlie's Angels" car and the most remembered of the show!

The main pic at the top is of the 1976 model, but are the smaller pics above, of the episode "Angel Come Home" and Cheryl Ladd leaning in the back hatch, of the 77 model?

There were two of these cars used to film Charlie's Angels. My husband bought one from his instructor @ Ford. He replaced the motor and began to restore the paint but a family member became very ill and we ran out of money to finish the restoration. It has sat for quite a while now waiting for attention. If anyone is interested in purchasing the car is in Whittier CA. Please feel free to contact me at email sorchiaz@yahoo.com

I just got a 1:18 diecast model of this Cobra--with a special, limited edition "Charlie's Angels" box/packaging. It's superb...but I noticed it has black interior...while I think the Cobras used in the show actually had blue interior (see the thumbnail pic above, from ahight, where Cheryl Ladd is leaning into the back). But, other than that, it looks to be exactly like they had on the show! :D

*ahem*...yes, Hatchback is listed in the Class description of the Cobra. ;)

But, this has nothing to do with the diecast model of this car, which is now available, and the different colors of interiors--the model has black interior while the Cobra/s (still not sure if more than one model year was used over the course of the five-year run of the series?) used in the show have blue interior. Probably a minor aspect that Greenlight failed to check into or notice when creating the model. But, other than that the model appears to be exactly like the Cobra used in the series. It's awesome! :king:

It might have had something to do with the car still being listed as 'Class: Coupe' incorrectly before that was corrected today though.

Oh...well maybe so. I could have sworn it said "Hatchback" before in the above description but maybe not? But, it does now. ;) I just am curious as to why Greenlight put black interior in their diecast models of this car, and/or if another model year was used in the show at some point...such as a 1977 or '78 model year?

Indeed, Sandie is correct. It was previously listed as Class: Coupe :p

Got it...and yes, Hatchback is now correctly listed as part of the Class description. ;)

Does anyone know if another model year (1977 or '78) of the Cobra was used in the show at some point...and are there any noticeable differences between a 1976 and and a 1977 or '78 model?

I don't think the '77/'78 Cobra had chromed parking lamp bezels.

Now, if they hopefully, finally have the "Hatchback" thing taken care of :p ...thanks, Commander for answering one of my actual questions here! ;)

This is definitely the 76 Cobra pictured above, and thank you for the info on the differences between the model years. :) Now, I've read that later they updated the Cobra to a 1977 model for the show...probably for 2nd season on. I think they only used this '76 for the first season. The next time I watch the show I'll have to look for non-chrome parking lamp bezels in later seasons. :D

I based that on brochures and foggy memories of those days when I saw them around new.

My hobby in those days was learning the changes for the new model years. I collected all the brochures each fall and went over them with a fine-tooth comb trying to spot changes.
Have almost every American car brochure from 1976 to about 1992.

That's cool...you're probably right, that there was the chrome change from 1976 to 1977/78. I just was wondering if there were that many differences between the model years...I don't think there were that many, and none I really noticed on the show (other than if I was looking for chrome parking lamp bezels :D ). But, there were maybe a few here and there.

From what I've read and researched, these cars were more of a "show" package than horsepower...as they were really not that fast, nor had that much power. I think the show and/or Farrah & Cheryl are what made this particular car somewhat memorable...other than that, I really don't personally care for the mid 1970's to mid 1980's Mustangs. :/ But, stick Cheryl Ladd in any car...and it'll work! :p
