Agree SD1 body, but looks poverty black trim with very little shiny bits. I'd go for 2000. |

2000 appeared only in early 1982 for the Mk II version. |

I don't remember but I don't think it was imported. I will check when I have time. -- Last edit: 2012-09-06 12:49:18 |

The alternative is very early 2600 before Rover started adding chrome, tints and other bling. |

Dear dsl, I had the opportunity to check as I immediately found some old magazines with the price of every car imported at the time. The 2300 version was never imported for the simple motivation that at the time there was a heavy taxation on cars over 2000 cc (2500 cc if Diesel since 1978). Therefore the basic 2300 should have been too expensive. The 3500 arrived first in 1978, followed some time after by the 2600. The 2000 arrived early in 1982 at the same time of a facelift. A few months after a 2400 SD Turbo-Diesel was available. I am not sure the latter was available in UK, but you should know more... |

Thanks. 1979 2600 seems best guess then. 2400 SD never really sold in UK - it was a made-for-parts-of-EU version with imported VM engine. |
