2000-2002 Ford Expedition XLT Gen 1 (UN93) Undoubtedly driven by a professional stunt/off road driver. Its automatic ControlTrac all-wheel drive system would be quite busy calculating the amount of torque it needed to allocate for the front wheels to counteract the rear wheel slipping (spinning). The four-wheel drive system could detect traction loss in as little as a half an RPM difference between the front and rear propeller shafts, process sensor feedback and determine how much torque to allocate, and then perform torque transferring to the front wheels. All that, in as little as 200 milliseconds. It takes the human eye at least 300 milliseconds to blink. |
