Yes, the Audi was never so naked as the VW, and for some years not all extras, the Audi 50 had, were available for the Polo. The very first Audi 50 had some tiny body-details, which were unique, but except the different extras the cars were identical, produced on the same line by the same workers, only the VIN-number was different.
