It's a Roadmaster. Note the 4 portholes. All the lower Buicks had only three. |

Aboout the portholes... From 1955 to 1957, all the Buick models save the Special had 4 portholes. From 1949 to 1954, the only Buick to have 4 portholes was the Roadmaster (and the 1953 Roadmaster Skylark didn't have any). From 1960 to 1980, the Electra, Electra 225, Electra Limited and Park Avenue had 4 portholes, the Estate Wagon also had 4 portholes from 1970 to 1974 and the Electra Estate Wagon had 4 portholes in 1977-80. From 1981 to 1984, Only the Electra Park Avenue had 4 portholes and so did the 1987 Regal GNX. The new 2006 Lucerne has 4 portholes when it's ordered with a V8. Before 2003, the number of portholes on Buicks wasn't related to the number of cylinders or to the size of the engine, some cars had a 455 V8 and 3 portholes and others had a V6 and 4 portholes... |

The artist has captured three important details for this car. 1)It has four portholes, as previously noted by our group. 2)It has four doors with no center pillar. 3)It has the correct C-pillar for a four-door Riviera hardtop. The Special was the other of the two series in which the four-door Riviera body style was offered, but that would only be wearing the three portholes. 1955 Buick Century Riviera model 63. |
